Can i Upgrade to Ryzen 5 1600 or 1600x with a 500w Power Supply?

im upgrading to r5 1600/1600x, i have 500w, 1050ti, 4gb ddr4 x2 and ryzen 3 1300x right now, if im upgrading to the r5 1600/1600x, do i need to upgrade to a better power supply?

The Ryzen 1600X is 95W and the GTX 1050 Ti is 75W so from a wattage standpoint the 500W should be enough. How many amps do you have on your 12V rail? You can find this on the PSU label.

500 watts will be enough, but you need a decent PSU. There are a lot of cheap PSUs on the market that dont give the output they label. I would get a quality PSU from EVGA, Corsair, or Seasoinc.

Ryzen R5 1600 is a same 65W chip as 1300x so it should be any problems there even with 1600x you still on the safe side since your whole system doesn't pull many watts.
