Can I upgrade to SSD using a OEM operating system?

I recently bought another laptop and it came with a Windows 8 64 bit operating system. It comes with a 500Gb HDD but I would like to use a SAMSUNG 840 EVO 250Gb SSD for the operating system. Can I use the same OS on the SSD if it's in the same laptop associated with the OEM license?

Your windows license is tied to your motherboard hardware information, you can install a fresh copy of windows on the SSD and activate / authenticate without any issue.
