Hi, recently i've become attached to PC gaming, the problem i'm having is that my PC doesn't seem to be powerful enough to play the games i want on the settings i want. My specs are the following -

Motherboard: Asus P8H61-MX USB3
Cpu: Intel I3 Ivy Bridge 3220 3.3GHz
GPU: ATI HD 6670 2GB DDR3
Hard Drive: 500Gb
RAM: 4Gb
PSU: 450W

Would it be possible for me to upgrade the graphics card without worrying about using too much power? I was thinking about upgrading to a Radeon HD 7750 1GB GDDR5 (http://www.game-debate.com/hardware/index.php?gid=797&graphics=Radeon%20HD%207750%201GB%20GDDR5).

I was also wondering if that graphics card would be able to handle GTA V on medium if it ever does come out on PC.

Thanks, Kate.

I think winpower may be a tier 5(Not recommended, replace asap) unit on this list:'

That said, you may be ok since the psu has been working for you.
If you want to replace it, good 500w units are not that expensive.
This Seasonic 520w unit would be good:

it will deliver 40a on the +12v rails where it is needed.
What does your winpower unit spec label say?

7850 was a good unit in it's day. Tom's list of best gaming cards suggests GTX650ti/GTX650ti-boost/ GTX660 as best values. They all can run on 450w.

450W PSU... U should at least get a HD 7850 or GTX 760 to handle GTA V due to the scenario of the GTA IV, 7750 may can handle mid-low settings only, not strong enough. And i3-3220 may be difficult to handle gta v, too. At least a i5-3470 to handle this monster game in med-setting.

I just quickly re-checked my psu and it's a 500w (winpower 500w). After a quick Google search i found this, some are claiming that it isn't a good/reliable psu, i'm not too sure... Would it be risky to upgrade to a 7850? I don't want to run the risk of the psu failing and possibly damaging other components ..

I'm not to sure as to what exactly the label says, but after what you've said, i guess i'll be looking for a new psu.. With a 500w psu + my current components, what sort of gpu's should i be looking for?

The brand of the PSU?
