Hi, I have a ASUS M11AD-US004S 4th Genertation Intel Core i5-4440S Desktop, 4GB RAM, 1TB HD, DVD-RW, Intel HD4600 Graphic, Windows 8.1. Obviously it came with 4gb of RAM and has a capacity of 16. I'd like to max that out and my question is can I use a single 16GB card of RAM instead of 4x4?

Solution
I would feel 2x8 is a better choice

and seeing that is a asus prebuilt ? no telling about any compatibility on that I guess its a at own risk thing ??

I will assume this is part of its specs ??

Memory

2 GB Up to 16 GB
Dual Channel, DDR3 at 1333MHz
2 x DIMMs

2 x DIMMs - so that means it only got 2 slots for memory so 4 stick will not work

https://www.asus.com/us/Desktops/M11AD/specifications/

most desktops will not run over a 8gb stick..

''It's possible to run up to two 16 GB RAM sticks on that motherboard, but for 16 GB RAM, it's better to just get 2x8 GB. ''

that's not right its up to 16gb orf ram not 2x16 = 32

the specs from asus on there prebuilt = 2 GB Up to 16 GB that's not up to 32 or 64 that means 16gb limit to be compatible and supported
