Can I use 120mm with 140mm fan at the top of the cm 690 ii advanced casing?

I am using cm-690-ii-advanced, it comes with default front 140mm, rear 120mm and top 140mm fan. Can I add a 120mm fan at the top of my case?

There is only one fan connector on every motherboard? Usually the rear fan will connect to the motherboard? I only found 1 fan connector port in my motherboard Asus P7P55D-E PRO

Front: 140 x 25mm blue LED fan x 1 / 1200RPM / 19dBA
Rear: 120mm fan x 1 / 1200 RPM / 17dBA
Top: 140 x 25mm fanx1/1200RPM/19dBA(supports120/140mm fan x 2)
Bottom: 120mm fan x 2 (optional)
Left side: 120/140mm fan x 2 (optional)
Right side: 80 x 15mm x 1 (optional)
HDD cage: 120mm fan x 1 (optional)

You can plug extra fans directly to the PSU with a MOLEX adapter. As long as there is room for the fan, you will be fine. Some motherboards can have much more fan adapters.

Yes you could add a 120mm fan at the top.

As per the mobo specs:
1 x CPU Fan connector(s)
1 x Power Fan connector(s)
2 x Chassis Fan connector (1x4-pin, 1x3-pin)

Looking at the info you listed, you should be able to install 120mm fan on the top. The case will have different mounting holes to accommodate the different fan sizes.

On this picture, I see 4 fan connectors: bottom right, 2 next to the CPU socket and one near the bottom left corner. Any of these will work, but the two under the CPU will most likely be synchronized.

What does synchronized mean? My two fan connector under the CPU has been used, one connected to the rear fan and one connected to the CPU fan.

What does CHA_FAN1 mean?

You better use your mobo connectors, for instance to front FAN(as its one of more important in your case).
Rear, side and top fans are the logical order.
connecting fan to the motherboard you will be able to control fan speeds directly by your mobo as needed, however when connected to the PSU molex, you can use some external fan speed controller as well.

-CPU Fan connector: goes to CPU fan
-Power Fan connector: goes to PSU, just a few PSU uses this connector.
-2 x Chassis Fan connector: go to any chasis fan ( front and rear preferibly)

What I mean by synchronized is that you won't be able to control the fan speed individually; both fans connected to the CPU headers will run at the same speed. As juan stated, you can usually use the software included with your motherboard to control the fan speed (or from within the BIOS) if you use the fan connectors on your MB. If you connect the fan to the PSU, you will need a fan controller if you want to adjust the speed.
