Can I use 1866MHZ RAM with 1600MHZ RAM?

I have a dual channel motherboard with 2 black slots and 2 blue slots. I currentlty only have 4GB of 1600MHZ RAM (in the blue slot) and was hoping to add 2 x 4GB 1866MHZ RAM. Is it okay for me to put those 2 (1866MHZ) in the black RAM slots?

It usually does not damage anything but it is likely that it won't work together.

It usually does not damage anything but it is likely that it won't work together.
