can i use 2 rams

I have a mother board PC and I have 1gb ram in build in it my PC is dual core and now I want to insert another ram of 2gb can I use both of them I have 32bit win 7 ultimate

You can generally use every slot on a mobo for ram, but some mobo's have stipulations like 4Gb max (means only 1x 4Gb or 2x 2Gb). Windows 32bit (any version) will only recognise 4Gb of ram at max (only 3.5Gb is usable)
