[SOLVED] Can I use 3000 MhZ RAM in ASRock Z390 Pro4 ATX LGA1151?

Hi! few days ago i ordered the parts for my first build using pcpartpicker.com build guides, i bought the ASRock Z390 Pro4 ATX LGA1151 and 2x8GB Crucial Ballistix Sport LT DDR4-3000 mhz but today i read in the asrock website and it doesn't say that support 3000 Mhz

Supports DDR4 4300+(OC) / 4133(OC) / 4000(OC) / 3866(OC) / 3800(OC) / 3733(OC) / 3600(OC) / 3200(OC) / 2933(OC) / 2800(OC) / 2666 / 2400 / 2133 non-ECC, un-buffered memory

What can i do? the parts will arrive in 2 days

The QVL list on ASRock's website is merely a list of RAM sticks that they have successfully tested on that motherboard. It doesn't necessarily mean that unlisted RAM won't work on it, but they can't guarantee that it will.

In addition to above, you can also find the actual memory QVL that does indeed state various 3000 RAM already tested and functional in tests on the board, so yes it can run 3000. Just remember it will probably run at 2933

A good way to make sure that an unlisted stick is 99.9% compatible is to find a similar one from the same manufacturer. Try to find a model with a different speed and/or capacity of the same series.
