So is there any point of buying a 4.0 ssd when it will be limited to 3.0 PCIe? I can just buy a PCIe 3.0 nvme ssd in this caseYes. While the CPU will limit PCIe to 3.0, PCIe is forwards and backwards compatible. And while you can see a loss in performance in storage benchmarks, you won't really notice a loss in performance in practice.
Not really, but don't discount 4.0 SSDs if the price for the capacity is good.So is there any point of buying a 4.0 ssd when it will be limited to 3.0 PCIe? I can just buy a PCIe 3.0 nvme ssd in this case
Will the performance of 4.0 ssd be sightly more better then 3.0 sss in this situation. Not really, but don't discount 4.0 SSDs if the price for the capacity is good
The bandwidth won't be better, but it might have better performance in other areas, like IOPS.Will the performance of 4.0 ssd be sightly more better then 3.0 sss in this situation.
And will installing a dedicated gpu later by resolve this issue Just wondering 🤔
You see I was thinking of buying Samsung PM9A1 which is the exact copy of 980 pro and is cheap as hell cheaper then 970 evo I can get my hand on that thing and if the cpu an mobo Won't have any Problem with it then i am definitely buying the PM9A1 If It's sightly better then the 3.0 ssds then It's worth the price this will be great right????The bandwidth won't be better, but it might have better performance in other areas, like IOPS.
And no, installing a dedicated GPU won't resolve this. The CPU is stuck at PCIe 3.0
