From what I have heard, it is possible to use a 2x6-pin PCIe GPU in a 1x6-pin PCIe PSU through the use of an adapter that converts 4-pin to 6-pin. Is this possible, and if so, would it be ok to have one connector plugged into the 6-pin connector and the other into the adapter?

Solution
CX600 has all of the power connectors used on current motherboards. It also has more SATA power connectors and has two (6+2)-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors.

The Cit 650W PSU lacks an 8-pin CPU power connector and only has two SATA power connectors and one 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connector.

My PSU would supply enough current as far as I know (600W for a Radeon HD 7870 and FX-4300), but I'm not sure whether to go for the £25 Cit 650W PSU or the £59 Corsair Builder Series CX600 PSU.

Sorry, when I said "my PSU", I meant the PSU I am planning on getting, rather than my current PSU.
