Hi guys, currently doing my first build and have run into a bit of confusion when connecting the GPU (EVGA Nvideia GeForce GTX 970) to my PSU(EVGA G3 650watt Gold 80 plus).

The PSU offers 2 cables for this
1. A 8 pin connector (6+2)
2. A 2x8 pin connector (6+2)(6+2)

The GPU has 2x6 pin connector slots available so I'm not sure if I can use what I have or if I need an adapter/new cables?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Your question is can you use a SINGLE 6+2 to feed two 6 pin PCIe power connectors on a graphics card? The best answer is no. Your power supply probably isn't up to the task of powering that graphics card since it doesn't have the required connections. The most realistic answer is, unknown. A high quality power supply with an 8 pin cable supplying two 6 pin ports would probably work. An undersized, no-name power supply may melt down.
