Can I use a 6-pin + 2-pin instead of an 8-pin for my new GPU?

I'm pretty bent on buying a new GPU, and the one I'm looking at requires a 6-pin and an 8-pin power supply. But my old card only used 2 6-pins. I have 2 6+2-pins running from my PSU.

Question is, can I use the GPU? Can i use a 6-pin and an 2-pin in the 8-pin slot?

The card requires at least a 500W PSU, and mine is 600W so I hope I'm covered in that regard.

The 6+2 pins are for graphic cards , so your all set.

Put the 6 and the 2 pin in to equal 8. 😀

Also for a 6 pin you can also put in the 6 pin and leave the 2 pin out.

8pin is actually a 6pin+2pin so yeah you can use it.

Yes. All the 6+2 means is that there is a 6-pin connector and a 2-pin connector together, but separated if that makes sense. You just connect the two separated/split connectors in all 8 pins into the card. I assume you just left that orphan 2-pin connector on your old card to the side.

A 6+2 is what a 8pin is don't think any PSUs have a fixed 8 pin connection lol
