Hello,

I would like to know if i can use an APC 650va or a 800va UPS for my PC specs are:

i5 9400f
16gb ram 3000mhz
MSI b365m-pro MOBO
GTX 1660 6GB OC
EVGA 600w 80+ Bronze
500GB SSD
Case with 4 RGB Fans

The reason why is: there is sudden electricity blackouts in my city and I only need like 3 minutes of time to shut down my PC the proper way to protect it for surges ( I can't find decent 2000 joules surge protectors in my country), And I am on a tight budget ( my countrie's minimum wage is 200$ a month, I have been working years to aquire the PC), can the mentioned UPS give that 3 minutes ?

Solution
Sure, just don't attach your monitor -- computer only -- and get one that uses a USB connection and software to do an automatic shutdown in 3-5 minutes.

APC is my go to brand, I have about a dozen of them, and PowerChute, their software, has never failed me.
