Do you need to have a Skylake CPU to preform the bios update or can you use an older CPU

hey guys,

I just bought a 6th Gen Motherboard and a 7th Gen CPU

Motherboard: ASRock H110M-ITX
CPU: i5 7500

When i get my hands on a 6th Gen CPU how do i upgrade the BIOS so it is good to go with my new CPU?

If you have a 7th gen processor like you have then you need to first install a 6th gen (so the board supports it and recognises it) then go to you motherboards official website and download the latest bios which usually says that it will allow it to support 7th gen cpu's.

Start ur pc up with 6th gen cpu inside and then insert your memory stick with the new bios on
it. Update it and once done, remove the 6th gen cpu and install the 7th gen. Should work
