So, I ordered a new PSU: Gigabyte GP-P750GM 750W PSU.

It didn't come with a cable from my PSU (8 pin) to my graphics card (6 pin). Can I order one on the internet, or can I use the 6+2 cable that did come with it, but then without the 2? If I need to order something, please recommend me something because I know nothing about this.

Not necessarily. It should power on even with GPU installed but not connected. Of course it will not boot this way as you don't have CPU with integrated graphics but that's ok. We just need to figure out if the problem is with the connection you just made or something else.

I have tried it, but it still will not power on.

Yes, I believe so

This is a question you need to be sure about one way or the other. Using cables from other PSUs can fry components.

Did your friend not do any testing? You may need to disassemble it completely and reassemble it; if you don't know anything about the assembly of your PC and you friend isn't here to instead of you to discuss it, then we don't know anything about the assembly of your PC.

Eh, be careful with that PSU. If it's this one, they can be dangerous:

Maybe stop the order or return immediately.

He said he tested it, I thought it was okay. But I'll have a word with him

Yes, that's a really good idea!

If you have a budget and a website to buy from we can recommend something decent for you. You should be aiming for a good gold unit. The PSU is the heart of your system. You want a decent heart in there, I'm sure.

That would be great! I usually buy from any site that is trusted. I would like to spend around €100, because this has already cost a bit. Ff you can't work with that, just recommend any and I'll check it out!

What country are you in? I'm in Ireland, so what's available to me might be less, than maybe Germany. A decent 550w would be okay for your build. If you plan on a GPU upgrade, then maybe a 650w to allow for room.

Any Corsair RMx/RMi/TXM, Seasonic Focus Plus Gold/GX, EVGA G2/G3/G6, Superflower Leadex III. They would all be pretty good with long warranties
