The reason I'm asking is because I'm buying a Roku TV soon that doesn't support component. Which is weird I know. But that's the only TV in my budget range and I can't find any other TVs because they are all constantly being sold out. I'm guessing due from after the Holidays I guess? My main question is can I use a HDMI/Component converter on a HDTV that does not support component at all? How would that work? Can I still get a decent picture through the HDMI port that's plugged into the HDTV? For example, if I wanna hook up my basic original Wii or a PS2 through component to a component converter upscaler where you hook up a HDMI cord to it, etc Should I have not any issues? VIA XRGB-Mini FrameMeiser, etc? And other devices similar to it? Thanks! :) Would that work? Thanks! ^_^ :) For example, something like this.

Sorry lol, thanks. :) Sorry for editing my post. Trying to correct it. :)

Solution
The item you list is a HDMI to component converter so no - its the opposite of what you want.

You can get straight hdmi adapters for both the wii & ps2 for about $5 each you know ??

I know that. "Sorry I was backwards" I know they got Wii2HDMI and PS2HDMI adapters yes, but I prefer to use component though. :) Sorry was just asking. ^_^ I heard you can get better picture quality out of component for gaming. So yea. :) Thanks for the advice though. I already own a Wii2HDMI adapter but I prefer to use my component cables tho. So thank you. :)

Thanks for the answers guys!! Sorry for my post being confusing XD. I'm not feeling well today the weather is crappy. XD :)) This is my first SmartTV so I'm excited. :D The reason I was asking. ^_^ Thank you! :)

What model is the tv exactly ???

Your issue with saying you'd rather use component is that its still being converted to hdmi no matter what you use - the quality is going to be the same no matter what you do

Component is analog , hdmi is digital , it has to be converted somewhere.

Dont suppose the tv has vga input ?? Better option for running component into imo.
