I'm looking to boost my home network range with a D-Link DIR-615, I'm currently using a super hub vmdg480 on Virgin Media and was wondering if there might be a way to boost the wifi signal? any suggestions?

That does not accomplish what he wants. That just bridges the wan...
Maybe you would have to load something like dd-wrt on it, it does not have the feature with default firmware. That router has multiple versions so be sure you get the correct image...some discussions say not all version of the router support the repeater feature. You are going to have to dig to find the details.

Just remember repeaters do not actually boost the signal. You must place them in a location closer to the area with bad/no signal but still close enough to the main router to get good signal.

If you have the option the best way to use that router is to use it as a AP running a ethernet cable to connect the devices. That router, like most, can act as a AP with the factory firmware.

Go with these step with Updated Firmware :
Visit http://192.168.1.1 and login to your router.
Go to Setup > Basic Setup
WAN Connection > disable the connection type, for STP -> Disable
Set the Local IP address to 192.168.x.2 depends on the of the wireless router.
Gateway to 192.168.x.1 and Local DNS to 192.168.x.1
WAN Port : checked the Assign WANT Port to Switch (optional)
After that Go to Wireless > Basic Settings and the following settings
Wireless Mode : Repeater Bridge
Wireless Network Mode : Mixed
Wireless Network Name (SSID)
Wireless Channel : Auto
Channel Width : 20MHz
Wireless SSID Broadcast : Enable
Network Configuration : Bridge
SAVE and APPLY SETTINGS

That does not accomplish what he wants. That just bridges the wan port to the lan/wireless ports. It does not in anyway make it run as a repeater

Thanks for the suggestions guys I've changed the title of this thread as I really meant a wireless booster. I'll have a go next time I get chance to see if I can get it up and running.

When the op refers to a "Wireless Booster", I'm assuming that you want to use your DIR615's wireless and/or wired connection to extend the primary router's coverage. This is called a Repeater Bridge.

johnicook is 100% correct in suggesting to use a 3rd party firmware such as ddwrt to complete this. That said, bill100g and other novices should not attempt this as they will most likely break their internet connection and require a $100 visit from Comcast.
