Hi for everybody! :) I'm some confused. Can I use a ECC Memory in a NON-ECC motherboard? I know that when the Motherboard tells "Supports non-ECC memory" there is no to use a ECC memory... But I have this question...

I'm planning to modify my PC to a Medium-high level gaming PC.

My motherboard is an ASRock N68-VS3 UCC.... Supports until PC3-12800 (DDR3-1600) 'Non-ECC'

------------------------------------------------------> OTHER QUESTION :) <---------------------------------------------

Can I put a DDR3 2400 Memory in my Motherboard????

Maybe.

Unbuffered memory with ECC function may be able to be used, the ECC feature will not be used as the motherboard doesn't support ECC. Also, this depends on the sensitivity of the system to ECC memory, the system might or might not run properly with unbuffered ECC memory.

Buffered (+ ECC), and Registered (+ECC) memory types can NOT be used, as they are not compatible with the motherboard.

To be certain of memory compatibility, suggest using standard unbuffered (non ECC) memory, which the motherboard has been designed for.

Is vice versa possible?
