Can I use a gtx 560 in a pci slot?

Solution

No it doesn't. Perhaps you're actually looking at a PCIe slot? There are x1, x4, x16 slots...

PCI: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conventional_PCI

PCIe: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PCI_Express

*If you look down on the PCIe link you'll see YELLOW slots. The bottom one is PCI and the rest are PCIe. You'll note that there is a break on the LEFT for PCIe but it's on the right for PCI.

That rise prevents non-compatible cards fitting in those slots.
