[SOLVED] Can I use a i5 7500 with my msi B150M bazooka

I have a gaming pc from 4 years ago with an MSI B150M bazooka motherboard. I have a deal on an i5 7500 and wanted to know if it will be compatible with my motherboard. I have not updated the bios yet, but I want to make sure it works before I buy it.

The 7500 is supported with a bios update, you will need a 6xxx series to update the bios first.

No, your b150 board only supports Intel 6xxx series.

A 6600k would work out of the box, though you wouldn't be able to overclock it. The 7500 actually can work with the B150 motherboard, but you need to have a newer BIOS revision that supports 7th gen CPUs. If you go for the 7500 do the BIOS update before you swap out the CPU or you may run into problems booting.
