Can i use a Locked CPU On a Z170 Motherboard?

i Really want to use a Z170 motherboard with a Locked CPU instead of a H170 Motherboard because the ram i bought is DDR4 2400MHz i want to use it to its full potential but the ram speed limit on the H170 was 2133MHz and i decided to go abit more with a Z170 motherboard and a locked skylake cpu and is it fine to go with a Z170 motherboard and a locked cpu i kinda want the features on the motherboard and not sure if its compatible with a locked cpu

It's compatible; no problem at all.

The motherboard is fine. It just has the ability to use unlocked cpu's, that is all. No worries

I have a "locked" i5 6500 in my ITX Z170 board. No problems.

Yes, but i would rather ask: Can we use unlocked CPU inside motherboards that don't support OC? Please tell me.

Should work just fine, but it's worth checking the manufacturer's site for CPU support to be 100% sure. I'd say just about every Skylake or Kaby Lake board will support the entire lineup of 6th and 7th Gen CPUs with latest UEFI updates.
