Im not really good at this stuff so ill keep it simple, i hope.
My local internet providers, Indiehome, uses a fiber optic cable and they gave us a free Huawei router, they said it was their standard. But that router kinda have a low security (people can change the access the wifi security since the password and username cannot be changed) and has no ability to bandwidth certain persons internet speed. So, im thinking to replace it with TP-Link router which i got as gift. But it got no fiber optic socket.
Any suggestion on what to do? It'd be goof if the new router doesnt go to waste D:
thank you inbefore.

Once u have disable WLAN on Huawei configuration screen, then yes, ethernet both pieces together.
If the fiber directly attaches to the huawei device then you can not replace it. It has 2 function the first is to convert the fiber optic connection to ethernet and the second it to provide the router and wifi function. Most these device you can use only the first part and disable the router function.

Hard to say this is one of those read the manual type question. You need to set the device to bridge mode if it calls it that. Bridge mode normally means to disable the router and wifi functions.

Your other option if that is not possible is to disable the wifi on the huawea and plug the tplink into it. Not the optimum solution because you have 2 NAT devices but other than some console games it will not have much impact.

Still the best option is to use the huawei as media converter/modem only. The ISP may help you set the device to bridge mode or they may have a different device. It is surprising that the ISP does it this way fiber is extremely fragile and you really don't want you end consumers touching the cable at all.

It is not attached and can be unplugged. My friend did mention that there is a converter for fiber to ethernet but it cost a pretty penny.
I think im gonna try your suggestion since im bummed out coz of the high ping in game. But, i still dont quite understand of how to do it.
So, connect the ethernet (blue socket in TP-link and yellow socket in Huawei?), then disable WLAN on Huawei router and done, correct?
Thank you for the reply.
