I want to be able to boot off a nvme ssd on my Asus h110me/m.2, after reading the supported devices list it appears that the only m.2 storage devices run via sata. Will I be able to get the full performance from a nvme like a Samsung 970 Evo? Thanks.

"1 x 10Gb/s M.2 Socket 3 with M Key, type 2242/2260/2280 storage devices support (both PCIE & SATA mode)"

That is a PCIe x2 port.
It will work, but it will NOT give the full performance of a 970 EVO.
