I got my first m.2 ssd and installed it
But I found that m.2 disables my sata5&6 ports
And it says so in the manual
I was wondering if I can use a sata expansion card in my pci slot to get those two ports back?
My motherboard is asus z97k

Thank you

No, but you'd be able to use the sata ports on the expansion card.
The M.2 shares the ports so the only way to get those ports back is to remove the M.2. The ports you get from the card you can use but the card is separate from the ports on your motherboard, they are in addition to them.

Think of you power outlet you plug you TV in to the top slot. Then you add a power bar to the 2nd slot. Adding the power bar doesn't give you back the slot your TV is plugged into it just adds more plugs via the 2nd slot
