[SOLVED] Can I use a standard 3.5mm cord on my headset?

I have a plantronics rig 500 pro, it’s a manual headset with a detachable cable, after a month of use my audio cut out and the wire seems to be defective, can I just buy an everyday two side 3.5mm cord and connect it to my Xbox one controller, and have both audio and mic control?

Check the jacks, if 3 or 4 pin.

Most likely yes, just aslong as you make sure that the 3.5mm cable has 4 layers instead/connections of 3, so you can also use the microphone
