See if you can find your system here.

The things to look at are is the chipset compatable with Xeons swapping at all? Then is there a 95W CPU limit? Which is very common on OEM computers.
The E5450 Xeon is 80W and may be a better option.
I tried the Xeon swap w/o microcode iin my Optiplex 380. It ran but fan speed problems, wrong Voltage and multiplier issues etc. So I can't recommend it.
Basically the LGA771 has a CPU platform of 44, LGA775 is 11. The BIOS won't read and apply setting it's not programmed for. So even with CPUID of 1067A in the BIOS it won't apply the setting correctly until the platform ID is fixed.
You might ask here if you need help with microcodes.
