I am planning on bying an asus H97 pro gamer, it only has 3 fan connectors and i am going to have 4 fans. Can i use a fan splitter for my 2 FN V2 120mm fans and connect them on a single fan header on the motherboard?

Well, yes, BUT ...

First the Yes part. Those fans draw a modest current like many, and you can connect 2 of them to one mobo CHA_FAN port using a 3-pin Y-splitter.

Your mobo's CHA_FAN ports are all designed for either 4-pin fans (PWM Mode) or 3-pin fans (Voltage Control Mode). By default they will be set to PWM mode and your 3-pin fans will always run at full speed. See page 1-16 of your mobo manual for how to go to the right place in BIOS Setup and change the ports' operating Mode to suit your 3-pin fans, so that their speed can be controlled by the mobo.
