I have an i3 6100 right now and my i5 7600k will be here tomorrow, Im wondering if I could possibly use an i3 heatsink on the i5 for a few days because the cooler is slacking on shipping and wont be here till the late weekend while the i5 will be here tomorrow, could this cause any damage to the cpu? could anything negative happen?

Don't do it. The i3 syncs are smaller than the i5 ones. And even a i5 7500 one is made to cool a 65 watt CPU yours is a 91 watt CPU... I'm sure you could look in bios or something but if it goes under load (when installing windows) it could overheat and cause problems with the install

An overheating Intel CPU will lower its clockspeed rather than crash or sustain damage.

AVX is an instruction often used in things like encoding and scientific calculation. It's notorious for heating up CPUs far more than other types of loads.
