Can i use an ikea shoes mat (plastic) as a under desk pc mat? my whole room is carpet and i dont want to put my pc on the ground

this is what the mat looks like. my biggest concern is like the plastic melting or something or maybe the mat help gathering dust and such :S??

it will lift the system off the floor above the carpet. its a computer not a roomba, keep it away from the carpet.

It's made for use with office chairs, and definitely doesn't cause any static electricity.
