Hi, Serge1995.
That really does sound awesome, but I don't think it is possible. There are different slots on the Xbox original and a PC motherboard. For example: a PC motherboard has outputs such as audio, display and USB ports. An Xbox original has outputs for, well, the TV - such as the AV port. Also, if you're planning on installing a graphics card, there's no where for it to go! It is unfortunate, though.
There are plenty of slim cases to choose from, though! Some Alienware cases have the style of an Xbox 360, and they look brilliant. Hope I helped.
Thanks! It's not worth the trouble of modding it to work for a budget gaming pc. The graphics card I have is the GTX 750 ti FTW and that would probably take up most of the space anyway!
The case I'll probably go with is a Rosewill MicroATX Mini Tower. It even comes with a 450w PSU for only $40. That's probably much better for my first build.
For $40, the PSU has a risk of actually
exploding.
I may sound a bit over the top, but stable PSU's are generally over $60-$70 - and if you are getting a case with a PSU already installed, it sounds like it could end in disaster.
[strike]Cheap PSU's are good for, well, umm...[/strike]
Cheap PSU's aren't very good, really. When I was building my gaming PC, I was advised not to buy a cheap PSU - although it looked tempting. In the end, I made the painful decision to buy a Corsair CX750M (which was a lot more expensive than the $20 one I originally saw). However, once I bought it and set it up - it felt goooood!
Why? Because now my computer has a stable PSU!
The last thing you want is to buy a cheap PSU, and then it explode - causing all of your components (motherboard, fan, dvd drive, etc.) to break. This will cause a
lot more to replace, haha! I would buy a trusty PSU - such as Corsair. It helps to reduce the risk of everything else breaking, which would be more money to fix than a PSU.
