Hey guys, i have an amd fx 6300 clocked at base frequency of 3.5 Ghz. Now i want to overclock it to 4.1 Ghz to be able to play GTA 5 with no lag. SO can i do it with the hyper tx3 evo. I just want a yes or no with a reason to justify. Also suggestions for any other cooler if hyper tx3 evo wont suffice (ANy other than 212 evo)

I am sure. Your target is only 4.1 GHZ and probably increase the CPU vCore voltage to 1.35 to 1.4 V and please make sure you monitor the CPU temps by using HW monitor and nice air flow inside the chassis. BTW in PC games it the GPU that makes the difference, what is your GPU?

I am overclocking an FX-6300 at 4.2gHz on an M5A-78 motherboard using a Noctua 92mm tower cooler. The Noctua is probably better than the CM, but the fan is faster at max speed on the CM.

When I've got it dialed in with a fairly low voltage (1.2875 V), the max CPU socket temps on Prime95 small FFT are in the 52C to 54C range, depending on the day:
