If Im Using 2 4GB DDR3 and want to add 2 more can i add 2 new 4GB DDR3L and would they still work to give me 16gb?

Even though it is not recommended to mix and match RAM sticks of any kind(compatibility issues)... adding DDR3L to a motherboard that supports DDR3 like in your case should normally work... DDR3L will run at the same voltage as your DDR3 sticks(1.5V instead of 1.35V).

It will vary stick to stick. Some may work like hyperx ones that support both 1.35 and 1.5. Its better to use DDR3 though

It doesn't need to be written that the stick can run at both voltages.
Normally a DDR3L module can easily run at 1.5V no matter the model of the module... so it will work.
The only variable in the situation would be the compatibility between the modules.

In his case the board supports 1.5V since he's already running DDR3 modules(they usually run at 1.5V or 1.65V)... so the DDR3L should work.
The other way around wouldn't have been possible. If he had DDR3L memory on a motherboard that supported only DDR3L, adding DDR3 wouldn't be possible.
But as stated earlier mixing and matching can lead to incompatibility or instability.
