can i use display port 1.4 and get g sync

i have a pc with Geforce Rtx 2080 and on the backside is there a dp 1.4. The monitor i want that has can use g sync. my question is, am i able to use the g sync if i have dp 1.4 or need i a dp1.2 port on my pc. or else is there a dp on the grafic card i hook up to the monitor.

As long as your monitor and gpu are compatible, which they clearly are, nearly every port should work from what I know.

my pc has Display port 1.4 on the backside and i want a monitor with g sync. the reviews on youtube on how to setting up g sync said i have to hav dp1.2 or is that just a recvierment that i need 1.2 or higher like 1.4 . my question is can i use display port 1.4 and still use the g sync.

is there any difference between dp 1.4 and 1.2. if there is what is it. can i fo an example use g sync with dp 1.4 or are there a requirement that you have to use 1.2.
