Hi there,
Can i use ECC REG RAM on desktop motherboard, for example, GA-H61M-DS2 . In the specifications of this mboard written: Support for non-ECC memory modules, but memory controller integrated in to CPU and Xeon E3 1220 v2 supports ECC RAM: ECC Memory Supported - yes, so can can i do it? And if can't, why? After all memory managing CPU, not motherboard.
P.S. most 1155 motherboards (excluding some workstation's mboards) working well with Xeons even without flashing BIOS.
Regards, Paul.
