Can I Use GTX970 with Ati HD5970 together?

Solution

That is possible if you just using Nvidia as a phsyx but Nivida has been closing that...

Unfortunately not. They both use different scaling engines so mixing the different brands is not possible.

Once upon a time, there was a company that did create a bridging technology in order to use different GPUs together.

It was called the Hydra chi by Lucid Logix. Wiki Page They produced the chips and it was used in the MSI Big Bang motherboard amongst others, but did not receive good reviews. The Chip was later used in AMD GPUs such as mine, the VTX3D 6870x2 to bridge two GPUs on one board. It was OK at bridging same brands, but not good at mixing them in the end.

That something different and is not related to your question. It will not improve performance. You will either run a GTX 970 or HD 5970 in crossfire, not together. That is if you managed to get the drivers installed and working.
My advice, forget the HD 5970 and just use the GTX 970.

What about linus tech on Youtube shocked me!
How Can He Use hybrid AMD and Nvidia?

That is possible if you just using Nvidia as a phsyx but Nivida has been closing that option with the newer drivers. You might be able to do it with custom drivers or older physx drivers but I wouldn't recommend that either.

Solution

no. i know people try to make it something like that to actually work but so far it is experiment level at best. even MSI actually abandon the idea to make it work.
