Can I use i5 8600k in LGA 1155 socket type?

Currently, I do have i7 -2600k 2nd gen, I'd like to upgrade my CPU but I'm not sure if that is possible and compatible to use the same motherboard for i5 - 8600k.

No. You have to have a 300 series motherboard for an 8600k you have a 70 series motherboard. 70 is not equal to 300 ...
