noticed you were referring to the ASRock Z77 Pro 3. In which case, you should look into a cheap 2.5" SSD to breath life into your build. I'd advise against using an adapter to drop an M.2 SSD in that build. Even if you did get it to work, you'd loose out on the M.2's potential.

How? 870 is more expensive than 860The 860 evo is a bit overpriced, but the 870 evo is an option. You really cannot go wrong with either.
