Can I use MacBook laptop as a temp. display monitor for my server/NAS?

Meaning, connecting MacBook directly to Server MoBo via HDMI/USB-C, and using MacBook to display what I am doing on my server, such as installing/updating BIOS, installing OS...etc


I am building headless server/NAS (from bare metal components). I do not have separate display monitor handy. I only need monitor output to install BIOS and core OS once (!). everything elseon server can be done remotely.

The only way you could do this is through a capture card it might run of usb 3.0 or usb c

What is a capture card? (can you provide any hyperlink to amazon.com/newegg to see what that looks like)?

That's even more expensive than just buying a mini LED screen _ Mouse + Keyboard
