can i use more than 4 sticks of ram in a quad-channel board?

i notice on some boards they have 8 ram slots but they say their quad channel am i able to use all 8 ram slots or will my OCD have to suffer?

Yes, i could go into detail on how it works but there isn't much point. You can indeed use all 8 RAM slots on your board even tho it's "Quad Channel" for example you can run 4 Sticks in generic boards on "Dual Channel" just fine. Hope this helps

Thanks that really help especially with my sanity and even if 4 of the ram sticks are just like "umm whatever you can work without us" at least my sanity can say every ram slot on my motherboard is full

Yeah i totally understand that haha, i get triggered seeing people run 3 RAM sticks on a 4 slot board 😱
