Question Can I use my 6 pin cable in my 8 pin GPU?

600w is not be enough, you might need a larger power supply. I would definitely not recommend trying to force it. I would also recommend a different brand (more high end) as a cheaper one may lose power.

6pin is rated at 75w, 120w theoretical max. 8pin is rated at 150w, 180w theoretical max. I'd seriously not advise a 6pin to 8pin adapter as chances of starting a fire when asking for more than 5A in a pin are extremely good. 2x 6pin to 8pin is acceptable, it's the same wattage draw potential, if not exactly a perfect solution, no adapter is.

Aerocool has one of the worst reputations for psu's, just saying. And they give good reason for it.

And to answer the question, no you absolutely cannot use a 6pin in an 8pin gpu, it will not work.

A 6pin has a single sense pin, the gpu recognises there's just 1 pin there and will not turn on and possibly cause damage to the gpu or psu or even the mobo by trying to draw too much power through too little supply. An 8pin has 2x sense pins, allowing the gpu to recognise it has adequate power potential, so will run.
