my desktop has both WiFi and Ethernet. I use Ethernet as it is suppose to be more reliable but sometimes my connection to the internet cuts off for a few seconds. so my question is:

Can i use my desktop WiFi connection along with my Ethernet connection? As in like have my wifi on and ready as a backup, just in-case my Ethernet connection disconnects for whatever reason?

If you are thinking like, ethernet down (for a few seconds u say), then WIFI can detect and automatically jumps in, seamlessly, and switches back automatically after ethernet restores, as far as you know, nothing happened... my guess is, you are dreaming.

Ethernet is suppose to be more, much more reliable, my guess is your prob is somewhere else. Like ^he says, use WIFI-only for a little while see what happens, if same thing happens then u know.

When this happens, doesn't hurt to look at your CPU load, max out? what about the HD activity, is it going crazy?
I dont believe there is a way to use them both at the same time. Even though your connection drops, you are still technically connected to the ethernet, so it wouldnt know to switch over (even if it could automatically).
You say you use ethernet because its more reliable, but it sounds like its not reliable. Have you tried just using wifi?
