First off, I apologize because I know I am an idiot & this an idiotic question but I could not find an answer that would help me via google.

I want to purchase an external Usb 3.0 4 tb hard drive and put all of my music on the drive. We have a very large collection because we own hundreds of audio books in addition to music, movies, tv shows, and podcasts. 99% of it is in Itunes but I also have several items via Amazon music.
I am running Windows 10.
Can I put all of the music(movies etc) on the external hard drive and have my PC play it easily? My plan is to delete all of the stuff from my C drive and only have it on the external drive IF Windows can run Itunes and my music will work "normally" like it does now via my C drive.
Again, sorry for such a stupid question. Lol. It is embarrassing having to ask this but I have no idea if you can use an external hard drive partially like your main drive. Thanks for any help and/or info you might provide me. :)

Solution
The external drive is a good solution, but don't keep all your eggs in one basket. If/when that external drive fails you will lose it all. Make sure you have copies and/or backups of anything that is important.
You absolutely can and many people do this. Especially laptop users that end up with laptops that have small SSDs built in and can't be upgraded (like some apple laptops) or the owner just doesn't want to spend the money to upgrade.

Yeah, my bad. I just meant "we" as in my wife, kids, and myself. Some of the stuff is what they bought but we all use the same profile. Sorry I didn't explain that. Thanks for your help though. I really appreciate it. :)
