Can I Use My Old Hard Drive

i have a computer with windows 10 and a few other things on it
if i were to put its hard drive in a pc build i am working on would windows work on that , if so would i need to do anything else to make it work , if not what would i need to do to get windows 10 for free or very cheap.

You can move the hdd to the new PC if you do this first: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/20530/windows-10-reactivating-after-hardware-change

That will link the digital entitlement (DE) you have to win 10 on your current PC to an email address. If you use the same email address on next PC and follow the instructions on that page, you can move the DE to your new PC.

You may want to download the Windows 10 media creation tool and use it to make a win 10 installer on USB as there is always the chance that the hardware on new PC is so different to current one that windows won't boot. Best to backup anything you can't afford to lose before hand, in case you need to fresh install win 10
