Hi guys. I want to replace the motherboard and cpu of my old pc for a new one, the new one being
a ASRock 980DE3/U3S3 AMD 760G So.AM3+ Dual Channel DDR3 ATX Retail,
with this cpu: AMD FX Series FX-4130 4x 3.80GHz So.AM3+ TRAY
and this cooler: Xilence M303 Tower
Now: I have on my old PC this RAM: CORSAIR 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 Desktop Memory Model CMV4GX3M2A1333C9
Can I use it on the new motherboard? It says on the motherboard page that it should support DDR3-1333, but it also says It is dual channel ram, and I dont really know anything about ram... Should I get some "dual channel ram"? Or does it only mean that the resource is used somewhat differently? I read something about dual channel ram being used in pairs or something... Does it mean I always have to use pairs? 2, 4, 6 or 8 pairs of ram? What happens If I used only one, for instance for testing if a ram module is dead?
Well, those are my questions. More importantly I wanted to know if I can use the old ram on the new motherboard. Thank you in advance!
