[SOLVED] Can I use my old windows key on my new pc?

Hello. I'll be building a new PC for the first time next week when all my parts are here but i'm not sure weather I need to buy a new Windows 10 Key or not?

On my current PC I used an Official Windows 7 Retail Disc and Key to install windows 7 as windows 10 wasn''t out back then but then I upgraded to windows 10 a couple of months later when they started offering all the free upgrades to it.

Will I be able to install Windows 10 on my new PC with a usb stick next week and use my windows 7 key to activate Windows 10 or am I going to have to buy Windows 10?

Should work.

Otherwise, you can link your Windows key to a Microsoft account and transfer it over that way also.

Link it to a microsoft account? Never heard of that, sorry not very clued up when it comes to PCs
