Hello,

I cancelled my Spectrum/Charter internet. During the time I had it, I used my own Arris SBG6580 Modem/Router. I now use a Coolpad Surf mobile hotspot for my 4g with unlimited data and no caps. However, since my Arris Modem/Router still works, can it be used to boost the signal from my Wi-Fi hotspot which at times, can be a little slow.

I did find instructions to access
  1. http://192.168.0.1
  2. http://192.168.100.1
  3. http://192.168.1.1
  4. http://192.168.254.254
, but none of these pages would open.

I am a novice and would appreciate any help.

Thank you.

Unless it has the ability to hook a ethernet cable to it you can not do it.

To do it without a ethernet connection the router must be able to run as a repeater. This is not a common feature, I suspect even less for devices that have cable modems in them.

Even if you were to buy a extender/repeater I suspect it still would not work. For these devices to function it needs a feature called WDS. Most these mobile hotspot devices do not have that feature.

But if your router would have repeater ability and the hotspot supports WDS it should work.....I suspect neither of these devices have these features and I am too lazy to read the manuals which I leave to you.
