Can I use my TV as my monitor without setting it up beforehand?

Can I take my PC, connect it to my TV via HDMI, then have it work without setting it up via my monitor?

I just bought a PC but I won't get the monitor until later (shipping), but I want to check out the PC without the monitor.

Yes that will work. If it doesn't show up then try switching inputs. It should be listed as HDMI 1 or something close to that.

Yes, just plug the HDMI into the TV (plug the other end to the HDMI output of your graphics card ) and select that source with your remote.
