My specs are gtx 960, i5 4590, 8gb ram, 1tb hdd. Monitor 1080p. Possible to game bf3 bf4 bf hardline crysis3 metro last light. Cod aw, cod ghost on 60fps med and orhigh settings ,no extra/ultra amd no AA.
Even on multiplayer bf3 and bf4 and hardline on med or high with smooth gameplay? Im a non-hardcore player .

Not on high , no AA?

And??
An r9 280x can do that to so why waist money? 😛
As for the 960... no it will not be able to do that on every game but it will be able to do it on most games. So yes it will be ok... the 960 is absolutely out classed by the competition it wasn't a smart buy, but since it's to late for that you should be able to get 50fps on ultra/1080p in almost everything which is good enough. :)

... you can get an r9 290 new for 240 or for 200 used

... I got my 280x for $95 used

Nice, usually you can;t get them that low what are the rest of your specs if you don't mind me asking?

Also the reason why I said for him to get the r9 290 is because it's an all around better and it will last him longer

This is true for sure, I'm just not sure it's necessary for 1080p gaming.

Here's my "specs" lol... my whole rig actually 😛

Dude nice! Your pc shames mine I have a q9300 4gb ddr2 with an r7 250...It's crap but I only had 160$ dollars to build a computer lol!

lol, well I put 2 months in building the case alone so it better! 😛 If you have any cash lying around I can help you beast that old system up using ebay 😀. Throw a Xeon X5450 in it for $40, get a used GPU like an HD7790 (about 2.2 times faster than your r7 250) for around $50 to $65... throw in an SSD later on if you dont already have one, you'll be amazed at what your old LGA775 system can do. The xeon is socket LGA771 and needs a mod sticker and you need to do a small socket mod on the motherboard too by cutting out the two little nobs on the side, but as long as you have a new enough chipset it will absolutely run 100% as the Xeon X5450 is just the Core2Quad QX9650 in disguise lol, I've built 3 of these Xeon mod systems now and they work beautifully and with a slight overclock can match an i7 940/950 on benchmarks its pretty incredible.

Nice, the 560 ti is about the same as the 7790 in newer benchmarks, should serve you well. The 8GB of RAM is amazing for $35 that will help you too.

i also just found 5450 for 15$ and the sticker for 3

Lmao nice! Jeez where do you live?Im in Canada)
Before you go crazy ordering stuff tell me what chipset your motherboard is. Example: G43 or P45

Also, the sticker is very small and you need to use a brand new very sharp blade or exacto knife to cut the tabs out that way you use as least pressure as possible and minimize your chances of slipping and bending socket pins. There is risk involved but if you follow the steps and are carefull you wont regret it.

neither it's g33

Of Course You Can Use It For Those Kind Of Settings. But I Would Suggest Getting The AMD Radeon R9 280x If Your Just Going To Run Games Like That:

Links To Buy R9 280x:

But You Can Still Use A GTX 960 But If You Want To Upgrade And Are A Bit Unsure Go To:

Make Sure You Turn Compatibility Mode On To Make Sure Your Getting The Right CPU And Right GPU For Your Build If You Do Decide To Do This.

Yes, It Is A G33 But He Was Just Giving You An Example Of What It Could Be.

KK, I was just giving example's I knew it probably wouldnt be either 😉
G33 should definitely work, shouldn't be any issues. Order away! 😀

Also, you COULD save up some money and put a better GPU too, your system with these new upgrades will not bottleneck an R9 280x.... it will most likely bottleneck a 290X, so yeah id save for a 280x (better than the gtx960 by a decent amount)

oh the most I can spend on upgrades is 120-130 because i have to save up for a car and a trip to see my family out of state

lol i'm just sayin, the 280x is almost as fast as two 560ti's together 😉. But money is always an issue, hence why I budgeted my build at $650. Google the 771 to 775 mod, good luck sir. 😀
