Can I use processor of a laptop?

I have a laptop with i3 processor which is not working due to battery problems, I am going to buy a new laptop.
Can I use i3 proceesor on my old PC which has Core 2 duo? I dont know if the laptop processors fit in pc or not. I want re use this laptop.

Why don't you buy a new battery and reuse the laptop that way? Or resell it?

But no, laptop CPUs are not at all compatible with any form of desktop motherboard. Different socket size and type, etc.
