Can i use quad channel memory config ram in dual architecture motherboard?

Is Corsair Vengeance CMZ8GX3M1A1600C10 8gb (8gb x1) compatible with 2x DIMMS (dual memory architecture) motherboard? Because it is said that, that particular ram is quad memory architecture!

Quad channel memory has the same architecture as the dual channel ram. Quad channel DIMMs are normally sold together as a kit of four and dual as a kit of two, to be sure they were built with the same components and are 100% compatible to each other.

Why adding one 8gb DIMM? You also could use two 4gb for dual channel. But in general, please provide the motherboard model to be sure

One 8gb dimm Because i am low on budget...as one 8gb dimm is cheaper than 4gb x2 dimm... and also i might upgrade it in the future buying 8gb again and eventually 16gb ?? That will work??

My motherboard is asus h81m-cs it has 2 dimm slots... dual channel ARCHITECTURE and 16gb max!

Yes should work, but would recommend corsair vengeance CML8GX3M1A1600C9 ram with cl9 and 1600mhz
